Sephora 20% off Haul – Animated Swatches!

This is gonna be a big one! For those who don’t know, 2x a year (once in November, once in April) Sephora holds a 20% off sale for VIB and VIB Rouge members (15% off for Beauty Insider) across the whole entire store, no exceptions. I assume everyone went a little crazy like me so I’d like to share what I purchased with animatedΒ swatches (so cool right?), and give some mini reviews.

Skincare Routine: Winter 2017

#NoFilter #NoMakeup. I wanted to wait until my regular routine gave me consistent results before dedicating a full post to it. I’ve been using the same products for a few weeks now and my skin looks and feels great! I do have some minor blemishing on my cheeks and jawline, but for the most part I’m pretty happy with my bare face (minus my uneven eyebrows). These are the products that are working well for my sensitive, oily/combination skin during this dry winter season. Heads up: lots of best sellers and cult favourites ahead!

My BB Cushion Collection + Mini Reviews

I don’t always have time to sit down with a brush/sponge and blend in foundation in the morning. That, and sun protection, are why I love using BB cushions.Β  They’re cute, easy to use and portable since the cushion puff is included. Just like all products though, there are hits and misses. My collection isn’t big but there are some good/bad products here I’d like to review. Every cushion here is SPF 50+/PA+++ unless otherwise stated.

Products Not Worth the Money – Nov 2017

Most of the time, I buy things after reading ratings & reviews online (a term called “webrooming”) so it’s uncommon for me to not like something. But of course everyone is different, and there will always be products that work for some people, and don’t work for others. This is my first post about products that didn’t work for me. They don’t necessarily suck, but if I went back in time, I wouldn’t have bought any of these items.

I Got Face Eczema – This Is What I Did To Relieve It

This is going to be a long post. If you’ve ever wondered what eczema is, or how to deal with it, I literally detail everything I did wrong and right when I got hit with it this year. I have no photos of the damage but I do go in detail to help as many people as possible. Some of this will sound gross, but I’m hoping I’ll help someone with their eczema too!

USA Haul: Ulta, Sephora, Target!

This past Halloween weekend, I flew to SoCal to attend a music festival (THE BEST WEEKEND OF MY LIFE… I may just write a full post on it) and do some touristy stuff. Of course, one of the most exciting parts of my trip was having the chance to shop for beauty south of the border. Most of these products aren’t available in Canadian stores so I had to pick them up!

Skincare School: Alcohols and Sulfates

I’m starting a new series called Skincare School, where regular consumers like me can learn about beauty ingredients on a simple (ish) level. The science behind everything is complicated, but it doesn’t have to be! My first segment is on Alcohols and Sulfates: what are they, and what kinds should I avoid?

My Gum Philosophy: Why I Don’t Give Gum to Strangers

Also why I don’t give out my number to strangers, why I don’t let strangers use my belongings, etc. and the list goes on. It’s really not about the gum… it’s about standing up against being taken advantage of. Sometimes it’s alright to say no. In fact, I say no most of the time. And yes, I go to sleep happy every night.
