Another great bag this month!
SLMissGlam L36 Tapered Highlight Brush
This is what I was most excited about this month! I was looking into buying a tapered highlighter brush but didn’t want to drop $20, so I’m so glad I was sent one. This brush is absolutely beautiful! Sparkly glitter handle, ombre purple bristles, 2 jewels on the hilt, etc. The bristles are very soft and packed close enough together to apply powder beautifully to the cheekbones. To show its sizing, I’ve put it next to some of my highlighters.
Wander Beauty Frame Your Face Micro Brow Pencil – Dark Brown
Right off the bat, I was disappointed because the product broke off near the base. Thankfully it’s held pretty tightly so it’s still usable. The pencil is extremely thin, even thinner than the ABH Brow Wiz, which is great for detailed brow strokes like the ones in the picture above. Another pro is the packaging: each side of the pencil and spoolie are labelled clearly – greatly appreciated since I always mix it up on my Brow Wiz. I’m not the biggest fan of this however because the pencil isn’t buildable. Every stroke looks the same because the darkness doesn’t change with pressure like most other pencils do.
Smashbox Always On Gel Liner – Fishnet
I love this pencil! It’s super easy to apply, creamy and pigmented. You can press lighter and harder to control the level of pigment too. I love this liner because it really doesn’t move – I wanted to smudge this out for a smokey look but it didn’t budge at all. So, I’d highly recommend this for tightlining but probably not as a base for a smokey eye. This is my second black eyeliner in a row so I’ve updated my Glam Bag preferences in my account.
Ofra Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick – ipsy Unzipped
I’ve heard great things about Ofra’s liquid lipstick so I’m glad I got one in my bag this month! The formula is very creamy and smooth, almost whipped like the ABH liquid lipsticks. I also think the doefoot applicator size is perfect – they’re usually either too small and require redipping, or too big and make a mess. Looks like ipsy and Ofra collabed together on this excusive purple berry shade. It doesn’t look good on me but I bet it’s very flattering for those with deeper skintones.
Purlisse Sheet Masks: Coconut + Rice Nourishing, and Green Tea + Ginger Rejuvenating
I love sheet masks and at this rate, I probably won’t have to restock on them anytime soon. I’ve heard of Purlisse before but it’s not available here in Canada (not in-store anyway) so I’m glad to try this out. Reading the ingredients list though I’m not too impressed, but hey for ~$25 a month this is a welcome addition to my bag.
And that’s it! Thanks for reading, definitely comment below if you got your ipsy bag or have used any of these items before. If you want to subscribe, subscribe here – I do get points so it would be much appreciated 🙂
