My Ipsy Glam Bag: October 2017

This month’s theme is clearly Halloween-inspired and came with a cute red lace print pag, with even a bat zipper! Overall I really liked this month’s bag.

It Cosmetics – Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder

I actually bought this powder pre-launch at Sephora in Canada and I really didn’t like it. Not because it didn’t work, but because $38 isn’t worth what it does. This is a very fine powder that has anti-aging ingredients and blurs out your pores. That’s it. It doesn’t keep your face matte, set your makeup, or anything else, and it doesn’t claim to either. This is good for anyone who has normal-dry skin and doesn’t wear too much makeup. It did blur out my pores, but not as well as my pore-filling primers. For someone like me with oily/combo skin, I need powders that do more than just one thing. However, now that I have this trial size, I’ll probably use it here and there. It did crack in the mail though… which sucks.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil – Perversion

Urban Decay’s eye pencils are known to be budge-proof and highly pigmented. I’ve actually received this pencil in my bag before, maybe 4+ years ago when I first subscribed. It’s perfect that I received this actually because I’m missing a black liner pencil from my collection (I almost never use them so I haven’t ever really bought one). It glided on very smoothly and is easy to draw with, unlike other liners that need to be pressed hard to get pigment. Excited to try this for halloween!

Studiomakeup Gloss Couleur Intense – Kiss

I’ve never heard of this brand before but the packaging says it’s made in Italy! I actually LOVE this colour because on my lips it’s the perfect MLBB (my lips but better) shade. I’ve been on the hunt for products that are my weird natural lip shade, which is a cool-toned berry colour and this matches me pretty well! The formula is very shiny and glossy, but it doesn’t feel uncomfortably sticky on my lips. Pretty impressed. It also smells kind of like watermelon which is nice.

JM Solution Water Jelly Cleanser

This is a Korean brand I’ve never heard of before. It’s a jelly-type cleanser that foams up lightly after lathering. It’s a water-based cleanser that is gentle on the skin and doesn’t over-dry it. This smells good and feels nice on the skin. Excited to travel with this since it’s a nice compact size!

Marc Anthony Hydrating Coconut Oil & Shea Butter

This is a 20ml size hair oil. It smells divine, just like coconut oil, and is good for hydrating your strands wet or dry. This is great because my usual hair oil is kind of large, and this skinny tube is good for travel. The cap is the kind where you press down on one side and it flips open the other, so you squeeze the tube to dispense it. Not sure how well it works yet but I can imagine it’s good at the very least.

And that’s it!

This is everything I got in my glam bag this month. As for the rest of the items that are available, I would have liked the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, Hanalei powder cleanser, FAB ultra repair cream or Essence Blush. But I’m pretty happy with the items I got this month; there’s a mix of high and low end items I’ll probably actually use. Thanks for reading!
