These 4 Products Will Last 12+ Hours On Your Face

I’ve come home from parties and events with my eye makeup still looking great. I’ve been rained on at festivals with my whole face still intact (including glitter tears!), while I saw other girls’ eyeliner dripping down their faces. My secret is using these staple items, which I would replace first if all of my makeup burned in a fire. They’re all very well-known and highly raved about for good reasons. Keep reading if you want to see photos of me putting them all to the test!

Urban Decay Primer Potion – Original

20170904_160840This is the best eye primer I’ve ever used, and it’s hard to imagine any other one working better. I have very oily eyelids and limited lid space, so creasing can be a huge problem for me. This eye primer helps my eye makeup apply more easily, last longer, and limits creasing. I’ve tried the Original formula, and Eden (the shimmer base) and I find that they work the same. I just like the Original because it’s more simple. In a few years though, I’ll probably switch to the anti-aging formula.

The Essence eye primer IS NOT A DUPE FOR THIS. PINTEREST LIED TO ME. It smudges ASAP and makes my eye makeup look horrible. Complete waste of $4.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner

There’s a good chance you’ve heard me rave about this eyeliner. I first bought it in high school and fell in love with it! It’s easy to apply and control, lasts forever on the eye, water/sweat/tear/bomb-proof, highly pigmented, dries matte, and the pen lasts me one year at least. This with my UD primer potion is my dream team combo. Without a primer, this liner does lack some pigment but it’s still better than most. This has smudged on me only ONCE in my life, and that was without a primer and with me jumping into a lake 5 minutes later.

There are some things to keep in mind when using this, though. 1. It’s really, really waterproof. The third image will show you. It is hard to remove at first, but when you wear it for many hours, it weakens and it’s easy to remove at the end of the day. 2. You have to let this set for a minute or two. If you apply this with a primer and go about your day normally, it will work like I said. But if you apply it and get in contact with water or oil immediately, it will smudge.

But what about the Kat Von D liner? I’ve tried that one too (bought it twice) and I don’t like it nearly as much. The KVD liner isn’t as pigmented and requires more than one layer to look solid. It’s also not nearly as waterproof – it smudges in the outer corners of my eyes no mater what, and will definitely transfer on my bottom lash line if I tear up. It’s also a brush tip (Stila is a felt tip) so it’s harder to control… some people like how much more free it is but I personally make more mistakes when using it.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade – Dark Brown

Holy shit this product is AMAZING. To be honest, I’ve never tried any other eyebrow pomade but this does it all. I also bought the ABH #14 brush to to apply this with and they work together great. Cheaper brow products will fade near the end of the day because of my oily skin but this stays on. Pomades can be very hard to use at first, but it’s my preferred eyebrow product of choice now because it saves me so much $$$. The ABH Brow Wiz is definitely one of the best brow pencils out there (next to the Benefit Precisely my Brow) but it’s $27 and lasts a max. of 3 months 😦

This ABH pomade is very waterproof and lasts a very long time on the skin, through sweat, water, oil and anything else life throws at you. The formula is creamy, and with a good brush it’s easy to carve out the shape you want. The only problem I have with this is that the surface layer dries fast even if you close the lid tightly, so every week or so I have to scratch off a bit of the dried surface to get to the softer product underneath. Besides that, this is a great product and this little jar will last me a looong time.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

20170904_161755This is the end-all be-all of setting sprays. I heard so much hype around this and thought to myself, “how much can a setting spray really do?” and the answer is A LOT! The spray nozzle distributes product very evenly, and this will completely lock in your makeup to make it last all day and all night. It also helps with cakiness, so if your makeup looks cakey or dry, this will take away the powdery look you don’t want and just make your skin look amazing. It doesn’t smell bad (which is more than I can say about some other setting sprays) so it’s pleasant to use. It is a bit pricey but it’s honestly so worth it!

See It All In Action! Before/After A Rave

I used all 4 of these products a couple of nights ago at a rave and I took some photo evidence of how great they really work. I put on my makeup at about 8pm, came home at 5am (I SLEPT WITH MY MAKEUP ON AHHHH) and woke up at 11am. Keep in mind that a rave constitutes me sweating a ton while jumping and dancing everywhere like a maniac. Here are the results:

So as you can see, my brows are still on (faded though because of my oily skin), the liner is still very visible and barely faded, and my eyeshadow looks less blended. I did remove my false lashes before I crawled into bed, so the Next Day pictures you see are just my mascara. I didn’t show my entire face because it looked really gross but you can see that the foundation and concealer are still on because my skin looks pretty even.

Conclusion

Sometimes, you have to spend more to get a better result. I completely stand behind these 4 products and will continue to buy them for the rest of my life. As for dupes, the only dupe I can vouch for myself is the Wet ‘n Wild Setting Spray, which works like the All Nighter but doesn’t last as long. I highly, highly recommend everything here and hey, if it doesn’t work for you, remember that Sephora has a very lenient return policy.

      1. I’ll try it! It’d be great if you could check out my blog and give me any tips about starting and what not or if I’m doing anything wrong, I could really use the feedback.
